Van 25.10 tot 30.10.2021 ontvangt M je graag binnen én buiten de museummuren voor de jaarlijkse ICOM CECA-conferentie. We starten met twee digitale dagen vol interessante lezingen, onderzoeken, best practices awards en twee interessante keynotesprekers. Niemand minder dan Nina Simon en Pat Villeneuve komen spreken over het thema van de conferentie: participatie binnen en buiten de museummuren.

14:00 – 14:30 Keynotespreker Nina Simon | The participatory museum

Nina Simon werd door Smithsonian Magazine omschreven als "museum visionair" vanwege haar participatieve benadering van musea. Ze is de bedenker en CEO van OF/BY/FOR ALL, een organisatie die streeft naar meer inclusieve gemeenschaps- en buurtorganisaties. Van 2011-2019 was ze uitvoerend directeur van het Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History, waar ze verantwoordelijk was voor een drastische institutionele ommekeer.

Ze heeft verschillende internationale musea, bibliotheken, parken, historische locaties, kunst- en culturele centra geadviseerd over onderwerpen als relevantie, maatschappelijke betrokkenheid en participatief design. Nina is de best-selling auteur van The Participatory Museum en de populaire Museum 2.0 blog. Haar werk is te lezen geweest in de Wall Street Journal, New York Times, NPR, en TEDx.
