From 25.10 until 30.10.2021, M would like to welcome you inside and outside the museum walls for the annual ICOM CECA conference. We start with two digital days full of interesting lectures, research, best practice awards and two interesting keynote speakers. None other than Nina Simon and Pat Villeneuve will speak about the theme of the conference: participation inside and outside the museum walls.

14:00 – 14:30 | Keynote speaker Pat Villeneuve | Art/museum education and supported interpretation (visitor-centered exhibitions)

    Pat Villeneuve is Professor and Director of Arts Administration and a 2021 Fulbright scholar to Belgium. She has published and presented extensively on art museum education, visitor-centered exhibitions, systems thinking, and paradigmatic change and is currently working with Ann Rowson Love on the Dimensions of Curation Competing Values Framework, a model to promote intentional curatorial practices.

      Pat coined the term edu-curation to represent a blended, inclusive approach to exhibition making and founded the edu-curation programs (MA and PhD) in the Department of Art Education at Florida State University, USA. Pat was named the National Art Education Association (NAEA) Museum Educator of the Year in 2009.
