KU Leuven has been in existence for 600 years, and during that time has collected a staggering array of objects. Scientific instruments, medieval manuscripts, stuffed animals, plaster casts, and so on. Think of something strange, and the university is bound to have an example in its stores. In 'The pursuit of knowledge' these various collections are being shown to the public for the first time in many years.
A guide will take you through KU Leuven’s various collections, explaining the history of the university and the burgeoning field of science. Together you’ll explore how knowledge has been gathered and studied over the centuries, and how we continue to learn from ancient objects even today.
You can start at 11:15, 13:00, 14:30 or 16:00. On Thursday M is open longer, so you can also start at 18:30 or 20:00.
