Immersing yourself in art from the cosy confines of your armchair, a drink in hand and your favourite music playing in the background – it’s a far cry from the typical museum experience. Yet many of the artworks in M’s collection once adorned the walls of private collectors’ homes. ‘Art that Moves’ showcases a selection of objects that have made the journey from private collections to the museum, some of which went straight from the mantelpiece to the gallery.
If you would like to know more about the history of M’s collection, don’t hesitate to book this guided tour. A guide will lead you through the exhibition, introducing you to the world of passionate collectors. Together with your group, discover the stories behind the objects and discuss the impact of art.
